Realistically, if you want to earn that much money per day from Google AdSense (or really most any ad network), you're going to need to commit significant, sustained time and effort to build a large audience.
Let's look at some cold hard numbers:
- Assume you earn an average of $1 per 1,000 impressions on your ads. This would probably be a conservative assumption.
- To make $500/day, you'll need to accumulate 500,000 ad impressions per day.
- Assume you display the maximum number of display ads that Google allows, which is 3: so in order to get 500k ad impressions, you need about 166k pageviews per day.
- Let's assume your site averages 3 pageviews per visitor. That's a pretty generous assumption for a large website with no established audience.
- All told, you'll need to attract about 55,000 unique visitors per day to your new website.
Now, there are a lot of assumptions here, but I think they are reasonable. You could earn more on a CPM basis. But you also may get fewer pageviews/visitor. And undoubtedly some of your traffic will be international, which tends to receive lower CPMs.
Anyone that suggests you can build a blog in your spare time to attract 55k readers a day on a sustained basis is kidding you. Unless you have an ingenious idea, some incredibly unique wit, or a very specific and expert knowledge in an area where no on else is writing about, achieving this result would take an immense amount of energy and comittmment, and a good amount of time (years?), to build your audience.
If it were so easy, everyone would be doing it. Not that it isn't possible--it is!--but the other answers here don't capture the scope of the challenge.
If your goal is a quick buck, there are better schemes than Google Adsense. If you have some passion, you just might find a way. Good luck!
